About the winery and the wine
The Beaumont family story, which started in 1974 with Raoul & Jayne is one where fact, fable and fantasy merge - a story where wine, food and family are always at the centre of the narrative - a story in which a family filled with big-hearted and impassionate people, strive to capture the essence of happiness, be it in the cellar, in the kitchen or sitting on a farmhouse stoep. It is a story that applauds the efforts of the everyday and the memories that are made through generous sharing of the spoils of the land.
 
The making of Beaumont Jackals River Pinotage: Harvested between mid February and mid March the grapes are then crushed into open concrete fermenters. Punched down 3-4 times per day until end of ferment, then pressed and taken to barrel for 18 months and then taken to tank for another 8 months.
 
Tasting notes
This is still an elegant style of Pinotage with red berry and ripe fruit flavours with fine tannins and lovely fruit on the palate. Fresh red berry fruit with a deliciously drinkable medium body and well integrated tannins.
 
What to pair with Beaumont, Jackals River Pinotage?
This wine matches very well with bobotie (traditional South African dish), game and curries, spare ribs and pepper steak. It will also complement very well bloomy rind cheeses such as camembert.
