About the winery and the wine
The vine in Beau-Séjour Bécot is more than a tradition: it is a historical constant. In Gallo-Roman times, the site was already dedicated to vines. In the Middle Ages, the monks of Saint-Martin de Mazerat also produced wine there. Finally, in 1969, the estate was acquired by Michel Bécot, from a family of winegrowers who had been living in Saint-Emilion since the middle of the 18th century.
Michel Bécot's two sons, Gérard in the cellar and Dominique in the vineyard, took over from the father, helped by Gérard's daughter, Juliette Bécot, who now also manages the Joanin-Bécot estate since 2001.
From an excellent year, Instant Bécot is produced by the Bécot family at the Grand Cru Château Beauséjour-Becot in Saint-Emilion. Made mostly from Merlot but this lovely red also contains Cabernet Franc. It gives you excellent value for such a well-made wine.
 
Tasting notes
Sweet nose with aromas of black cherry, fresh black currant and some hints of liquorice. The attack is well-balanced with blackberry and strawberry flavors. The finish is full-flavored with a nice length.
 
What to pair with Instant Bécot?
This wine will do wonders when associated with grilled white or red meat. We recommend to enjoy it with hearty cold cuts such as our terrines.
