About the Vineyard and the wine
The great-grandmother of painter Toulouse-Lautrec formerly owned the prestigious Château Siran in Margaux. The Miailhe family has controlled Siran since 1848, and Edouard Miailhe is currently the company's manager. In the commune of Labarde, Siran is situated far to the south of the Margaux appellation.
The 25 hectares of grapes at Siran are ideally situated atop a high gravel hill.
Tasting notes
With notes of licorice, camphor, and black and red currants, the lovely, delicate, and fruit-driven 2011 Siran is a possible sleeper of the vintage. It has a pleasant, approachable style, gentle tannins, decent acidity, and a medium body. Savor it for the ensuing ten to twenty years.
What to pair with Château Siran, Margaux?
This wine can go very well with grilled or roasted lamb You can also enjoy it with a cold cuts platter for the aperitifs (cold cuts). With cheeses we would recommend to go for hard or semi hard cheese with a bit of nutty flavors such as a Comté.
