About the winery and the wine
Five generations of dedicated vignerons were inspired by the Burge family, who established their roots in the Barossa Valley in the 1800s. Meshach Burge, the oldest son, thought it was time to leave the family company and pursue a career in agriculture instead of winemaking after years of working on the family vineyard. Meshach's natural passion for grape cultivation, winemaking, and winemaking persisted. In order to produce wines that he could enjoy with his friends and family, he set up fermenting tanks in one of his outbuildings in 1865. His generosity gave rise to the Grant Burge brand as it exists today.
